Welcome Folks to the web pages of Portlaoise Charity Truck Show, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, Ireland, An event that has grown out of a simple fundraising idea for Children with Down Syndrome by a local truck driver Aidan Doody. Originally a truck parade which Started in 2006 with 30 trucks, has grown annually until the first Truck Show in 2008. This event was a huge success attracting a record attendance at Portlaoise Rugby & Hockey club grounds and generating much needed funds for projects for children with Down Syndrome & Intellectual disabilities. This event has drawn together a large number of groups who give their time & effort, support, services & hard earned cash to ensure the success of the show. Ranging from our Rugby & Hockey club that provide the venue to local businesses that provide equipment & services, local radio & media that promote the event, the dedicated & hard working organising committee, the members of the truck & transport Industry & last but by no means least the men & women truck drivers with hearts as big as the rigs they drive for bringing their beloved trucks to our event.
